Christmas Thoughts & Comments . . .
As I write this I am sitting and listening to your great station. I think the way the songs have been interspersed with regular hymns since Thanksgiving is great. I agree with the gentlemen in your repeated paragraph, "This World Needs A Whole Lot of Christmas (and Jesus), Now More Than Ever." You have brightened my life and I’m sure of many other listeners. People have come to my home and asked if they could turn the channel and I tell them “no, this is a Christmas present for me.” I lost my oldest sister one year ago December 28th. She loved to listen to enLighten too, and hearing your music has made this Christmas easier for me. Betty, Mendota, Illinois
Just a note to let you know about how I TOTALLY agree with your Santa Claus statement. I personally feel that why would we celebrate a fantasy, when we should be celebrating the GREATEST gift to mankind? I also wonder where is there even a shred of BIBLICAL evidence to justify lying to your kids? Dan, Fair Grove, MO
I love the Gospel music of enLighten, but I`m not fond of all the worldly Christmas songs. Jingle Bells is not even a Christmas song. It is an old-fashioned sing-along song. There’s nothing Gospel or spiritual about it. LeeAnna, Salt Lake City, Utah
I love listening to enLighten. And, I love Christmas music because it tells of the miraculous event that happened so long ago. I have a Nativity set, plus on my coffee table I have several figures from the Nativity scene, and included is a cross with three nails. Jesus did not stay in the manager, but came to seek and save the lost. I am counted as one of His children. THANKS FOR ALL THE MUSIC !!!!!! Sarah, Decatur, Illinois
There was a song that I heard on enLighten tonight about the “12 things that Jesus gave us.” It is to the tune of 12 Days of Christmas. Can I get the actual name of that song and who sings it? Connie, Crewe, Virginia
Can you please play The Twelve Days of Christmas Jesus Gave To Me? We’ve only heard you play it once and we love it. Robert & Margie, Medford, Oregon
These are just two of several messages received inquiring about this Jesus Gave To Me version of this old Carol … who sings it, where can we find the recording, where can we get the words. So, for those who have not gotten an answer yet … here are the words and information for ordering from Carroll:
The Twelve Days of Christmas
Written & Sung by Carroll Roberson
On the first day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: salvation full and free.
On the second day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the third day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: Peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the fourth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: love for all men, Peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the fifth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the sixth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me; power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the seventh day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the eighth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the ninth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the tenth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the eleventh day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: a thousand tongues to sing, streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
On the twelfth day of Christmas Jesus gave to me: eternity to praise, a thousand tongues to sing, streets of pure gold, mansions above, a robe and a crown, a body glorified, power from on high, joy for my soul, love for all men, peace in my heart, everlasting life, and salvation full and free.
The song is found on Carroll’s The Wonders of Christmas recording, which can be purchased from his website.
